iPhone, COMING TO A UKCITY NEAR YOU !
A recent claims that iPhone interest in the UK is ’soft’. Not to bore our audience with numbers and figures the gist of the survey is that they found the average UK consumer reluctant to switch networks for the apple iPhone or indeed break there current contract just a for a new handset.
By the sounds of it they also had trouble getting a yes from die hard apple fans. We know that Apple will consider America their prime target lets just hope that more surveys like this don’t put Apple off releasing the handset in the UK as I’m pretty certain the UK is a massive priority for Apple as it currently stands.

The iPhone at a glance
Mass Hysteria and or massive hype apple or Steve Jobs are no strangers too but no one could have anticipated the coverage that the new apple iPhone would receive.
The Apple iPhone breaks no great boundaries in its feature list but the promise is that every feature it has will be done bigger and better. A promise that when made by Apple seems all the more likely to be realised.
The iPhone release date is set for June 2007 a date which the majority of Apple's loyal and hardcore fanbase will have marked off their calender. The iPhone price will start $499 for the 4GB modeal and move up to $599 for the 8GB model. Both models come with a mandatory 2 year service contract.
Here are the iPhone's main features explained in more details :
Touch screen like no other !
Apple have apparently developed a touch screen for the iphone will is unrivaled in modern day phones. Touch with your fingers and have complete control.
Internet browsing just got a whole lot better
The iPhone will implement the Apple OS default browser Safari into the system and this can be used to browse on your iPhone. There is even a neat feature that allows you tip your iphone on its side to view via your Safari browser landscape rather than portrait.
The iPhone enables WIFI browsing meaning no more slow internet connections whilst using your phone.

Just a short note to say I’m new to Apple mac and their associated products but was really amazed by the iPhone and Mr Steve Jobs very professionaal presentation of this apple product. I have a mobile phone and PDA but anticipated changing the former soon but am holding off until I can buy one of these really amazing products.

I just hope it puts Apple off enough to release the iPhone sim free… Why sould we have to sign up for a 2 year contract??? Apple would be foolish to do this there isn’t enough interest for the phone in the UK as it is. I a slowly going off the iPhone: The camera is already outdated, it runs on 2G (why they wouldnt use the latest technology I dont know) and on top of this they want us to sign up to a 2 year contract. Reality check Mr Jobs your strategy works over there but you may not get the friendly welcome you may expect over here!

I can’t wait for the iPhone to be released in the UK. Even my housemate, who I would have thought would really not be interested, has already said she is starting to want one too. Personally I will be more than willing to switch networks for the handset, the only proviso being that the carriers in question have decent signal strength in my area.
Although, there are a few things I’m hoping Apple will address before the UK release:
- MMS capability.
- Using your own music as a ringtone.
- General customisable features of menus/layouts/etc..
- Flash/Java capabilities on the Safari browser.
- Slightly more storage would be good considering the range of use for the device.
Having said that, even without these features, it still looks like the most amazing step forward in multifunctional handset design and a fantastic platform to build on.

It comes down to whether people want to be seen as being trendy by owning the latest gadget. If you want people to say “wow there’s an iPhone”…..then they will for the first 3 months…then gradually as the market becomes saturated you will become one of many with an iPhone.
There are far better phones on the market….Nokia N95 for example has a built in GPS receiver, 5 megapixel camera, MP3 player and you can get this phone for free. Why get an iPhone for 300 quid just to be trendy for 3 months? Sounds daft to me.

I started gettin bored of waiting, should I wait forwvwer till Mr.whoever decides to release it or not, in my openion the more u delay it the more people u will put off buyin it.
That’s plus the fact that It’s technology is gettin old before even releasing it
